PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mediation / Facilitation Related:
Mediation- 1995 to present 
Nan is a founding partner and Director of the Family Division of her firm, Dispute Resolution Professionals of Golden, Colorado.  She has been a volunteer Mediator for the Jefferson County Colorado Mediation Program since 1995 and served in the Gilpin County, Colorado mediation program in 1996.  She has served as co-chair of the public relations committee and as chairperson of the speaker’s bureau for the Colorado Council of Mediators.  In 1995, Nan founded and was Director of the Regis University Mediation Project. She served in this position until 1998. Jefferson County Board of Education commended Nan for providing conflict management training for Arvada High School and the Florence Crittenden School for unwed mothers. 

Facilitator- 1997 to present
Nan is Managing Partner of The Wings Group, a training group that presents communications seminars to the aviation industry. She has facilitated governmental conflict management training in the federal, state, and county governments as well as for small businesses.

Psychotherapy Related:

1997 to present
Nan works with 10 other clinicians at Nicoletti-Flater Associates to provide family therapy to several agencies in the Denver Metro area.  Her area of expertise is high conflict marital therapy, divorce therapy, divorce mediation, and women’s empowerment group psychotherapy.  An experiential therapist, Nan also uses solution-focused approaches to facilitate change in dysfunctional family systems.  She has developed experiential group treatment models for women with colleague, Verna Salmon, LCSW.

Education Related:

1998 to present
Nan is affiliate faculty at Regis University teaching Conflict, Power, and Persuasion; Theories of Collaborative Negotiation; and Mediation courses to undergraduate students.  She has facilitated general mediation training at Regis University on both the graduate and undergraduate levels.  Nan developed a curriculum for masters level multi-disciplinary mediation at Regis University.  Together with her partners, Mr. Turnbo and Mr.Zodrow, Nan co-authored and designed the curriculum and coordinating text for their court mandated parenting education program, “In the Best Interests of the Children”.  This course teaches parents who are divorcing parenting skills that help them meet the needs of their children when the family is restructuring.

Labor/Union Related:

1972 to 2003
Nan began a flying career and flew for 30 years in New York City with United Airlines. For over 25 years she served in a variety of volunteer positions with her union, the Association of Flight Attendants, including Grievance Chairman, Scheduling Committee, EAP, Communications Coordinator for her area in the Family Awareness Program, and Vice-Chairman of Council 9 from 1978-1980.  Nan retired from United Airlines in 2003.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

1997 Citizens Ambassador to Russia and Poland / Mediation

The honor of Citizens Ambassador to Russia and Poland for Mediation in 1997 afforded Nan the opportunity to travel to Russia and Poland as a member of a 13-member delegation to share ideas and present to professional and educational institutions in those countries. Along with a panel of delegates, Nan presented specialized conflict training to members of the Russian Bar Association and the Institute of Arts and Sciences in St. Petersburg, and was invited to speak at the Moscow State University Academy of Law on the history of mediation in the Western Civilizations.
